Green Drake hatch on the Metolius

The Metolius River near Sisters offers great walk in access and is one of Oregon’s most beautiful fly fishing only streams. Green Drake Mayflies are hatching around 2pm. The often picky Metolius trout can “lose their heads” over this big mayfly. CD

Afternoon dry fly fishing on the upper Mckenzie River

Water temperatures are nearing 53 degrees by late afternoon on the upper Mckenzie River. We are seeing larger Brown Caddis, Green Drakes, Green Mckenzie Caddis, Golden Stones, Little Yellow Stones and Pale Morning Duns. When fishing above the dam look for fishing on the surface to be best in the later afternoon 2-8pm. CD
