UV Ice Dub Blue Winged Olive Nymph Fly Tying Video

UV Ice Dub Beatis Nymph

Barrett demonstrates how to tie a simple but effective Blue Winged Olive nymph. Using UV Ice Dub as the thorax, the fly is given “hot spot” for the fish to key into. Use this pattern all Winter and Spring on the Metolius, McKenzie and Middle Fork of the Willamette. Fish the BWO nymph in tandem with a heavier fly to get in down near the bottom.

Thanks for sharing this awesome BWO nymph pattern and tying video. Simple, realistic, and super effective during winter and spring hatches. The UV hotspot is a really nice touch and definitely gets the trout’s attention. Tight lines!
