An afternoon float produced several colorful Rainbows for Tony Torrence and Nate Stansberry despite fishing an hour behind several Caddis Fly Shop “ringers”. Hot flies were the usual suspects… Mega Prince and Pheasant Tail nymphs in sizes 10-12. Thanks for leaving a couple behind fellas!

That third fella is purdy.
Pheasants in 10 – 12?
Hey Ronnie,
Mega Prince in 10s and smaller Pheasants… and some other flies have been doing well such as Possie Bugger and Golden Stones.
These fish look familiar. I put in at 12:15 at Bellinger, and the fishing was great. Winter spawners have great coloration. I used a mega prince withe a posse bugger behind with no split shot on either. The combo of 2 heavy weight flies got the posse bugger to pay for its self without the complication of a splitshot and a thingamabobber in casting. This setup got down enough for the moderate seams Chris was describing. By the way, I easily admit I can’t cast a split shot, at all.
Thanks, Matt
As soon as i hit the “Submit” button it dawned on me – Mega Prince with a small Pheasant trailed.
Doh!!
Hey Alex, I don’t think Tony is very purdy.
