South coast salmon stays hot

Salmon fishing on the Oregon coast continues to be good. I took a couple of friends to the river this week and they managed to find themselves hooked up several times. These guys left me skunked as they hooked big, bright fish just in from the ocean.

Rain that is scheduled for this week should bring in a good number of fish. Again, a 9 or 10 weight rod with intermediate and type 3 shooting heads will put your flies in the zone. Comets, clousers and baitfish patterns continue to get the job done. JC
