I need help with large steelhead tube flies. Mainly the art of spinning ostrich or lady amherst feathers with a dubbing loop and whirler!! Love the site.
Probably not your specialty, but I’d like to see something on how to tie big streamers like whistlers and Deceivers that use saddle hackle feathers and bucktail together.
How about using mylar tinsel for a body reinforced with wire ala a Mickey Finn?
Maybe talk about how to keep the tinsel from splitting during wrapping, if that is indeed possible.
I 2nd Mike on the dubbing loops
I need help splitting soaked pheasant tail feathers…drives me crazy!!!
Pick Yer Pocket
1. Please keep the requests coming.
2. OMG!
3. Dubbing loop use I can cover. Spinning Ostrich I can cover, though not as well as Rob.
4. Mylar reinforced with wire or tinsel, I think so.
5. And then I’m gonna have to go Google Whistlers and Deceivers and splitting soaked peasants (or is it pheasant tails), or whatever.
6. Geeez! Please don’t anyone ask about tying a #32, divided hair-wing Royal Coachman. I can handle a #18 Griffith Gnat, I suppose, but some of you are starting to push the boundaries of my limited skill set.
Press on.

Irish Car Bomb
How about your cutthroat flies
I would like to see any popular McKenzie Trout or Steelhead flies but have the tutorials run about 3 months before the flies will be needed. This would give me time to tie a few before I hit the river.
I love the videos and thanks for adding more 🙂
A dubbing loop tutorial would be great! With all the most common materials.
Mega Prince would be awesome
Hey Jason, Megaprince is here: https://oregonflyfishingblog.com/2008/09/10/mega-prince-fly-tying-video/
I would like to see some foam patters like a club sandwitch and a chernobyl…
Personally I know how to tie them, but I always stuggle cutting the foam, so would enjoy tips on that aspect.
Also would like to hear about what you would recomend to use when gluing multi foam layers together.
Thanks for all your video… they have helped me tons!
I am in the process of preparing a series of dubbing tutorials, including dubbing methods, tools, and materials. Boy are we gonna have us some FUN!

Saltwater Baitfish patterns.
How about a simple household fly? I could think of a few people to play jokes on 🙂
Videos are great, Thanks.
the frankfurt
and barrets squidward
It would be nice to see some of the tricks you have learned with the Petitjean tool – maybe collars on reverse -spider SRC flies?
P.S. Did I see that picture of you in the Post Office ?
I would like to see a short write up on some of the tricks you have learned for making materials cooperate with you. Also, any how to videos for hot local patterns are always appreciated.
Guy: that is my prized “Hoss” hat. Lisa thinks I look like a Dork in this photo. I think this is a “tough young professional fly guide” look. Oh well, we are what we are. More or less.
Irish Car bomb? Yes.
The Frankfurt? Need some help here.
Reverse Spider? No one fishes that fly.
Gonna need Barrett and Nate to do the SW flies.
Definitely more on the Petitjean Tool.
More?
I’d like to see full videos on strung out leeches and intruders. Also I would like to learn how to tie various stonefly nymphs and dry patterns. And anything else you can think of!

I’d like to see video for pick-yer-pocket..PLEASE!!
