John Geirach, University of Oregon bookstore tonight

May 12th, 2008 · 3 Comments

Fly fishing author John Geirach is coming to the University of Oregon Bookstore tonight at 7pm to promote his new book, Fools Paradise.

From the event listing:

Fool’s Paradise chronicles the fishing life in all its glory (catching your biggest fish ever) and squalor (being stranded in a tent during a soaking rainstorm). In Gierach’s world, both experiences are valuable, and both evoke humor and insight.

7pm, 895 East 13th Avenue Eugene, OR 97401.

I wonder if he’s hitting Portland. He must be — going to check it out and see if I can make it.

Of course, it’s tonight at 7:00 and I can’t make it.

For Portlandites, he’s going to be at the Cedar Hills Powell’s tonight, the 13th, at 7:00.

I went to UO to see Gierach. He was also here about 7 years ago at a liitle local church near campus, and thats all. He is one of my favorite authors. I was suprised to only see about 25 peeps there. Does anyone read about great fishing literature anymore,,, aside from the tech catologs with all the pictures? . I dont think there was as much notice in the local papers to promote him this time. Last time he was here ,it was on the front page of the sports sections.
Anyway, it was great, You should all read all of his books.
